COUNTY GUIDES &
OTHER MONUMENTAL GROUPS
The links below will list churches, cathedrals, chapels and other sites both in Britain and in France, which contain interesting collections of monuments or, in some cases, one outstanding monument. For Britain the list is given by county but, for ease of reference, the "old" counties, set in stone by Pevsner, will be used. Photographs and brief notes are given of the monuments and, in some cases, links to the websites (which may be the actual church web site) where further details may be found, often including further photographs of the monuments. I will also add links to web sites about the various scuptors and the commemorated. This list is by no means comprehensive and the reader is refered to Pevner's Buildings of England from which may be obtain as complete a list as is available anywhere.

Click on the link below to access the relevant page.

Note that this work is forever "in progress" and more monuments will be added as time goes on. I will upload a county before I have by any means completed it but rather when I feel there is sufficient material to be of interest. If you think there are any omissions or errors please e-mail the Society.
The last update is in red.
